How to Create a Team or Channel

    Creating a Team or a channel a team within Microsoft Teams. Microsoft Teams allows you to collaborate, communicate, and coordinate by using a 'Team' or a channel to separate projects.  


    Creating a Team

    1. Click the Teams tab on the left of the Teams application.
    2. Click the + in the top right corner and then click Create team.
    3. Give the team a name, description, and what type of team you want it to be.




    4. Click Create.
    Note: From here, you can add channels by following the directions below.

    Creating a Teams Channel

    1. Navigate to the team you want to create a channel under or follow the steps above to create a new team.
    2. Hover over the Team.
    3. Click the ...
    4. Click Add Channel
    5. Add a channel name and description.
    6. Choose the channel type. You can create a standard, shared, or private channel based on your needs.
    7. Click Create.


    Note: From here, you can click Manage Channel and begin to add members or other apps.
